For this episode I am proud to present to you a collector's stone: Grandidierite. We don't yet know if the big houses will create jewelry with this rare gem, but collectors are already snapping it up and even sellers are having trouble parting with it! Of course this exceptional gem was present at Gemgeneve: Kunal Sheth, the Managing Director of House of Gems 1986, presented a rare Grandidierite of 6.5 carats of a magnificent color: a midnight green with bluish reflections! For this podcast I had the chance to gather around the microphone of Il était une fois le bijou the famous Dr. Michael S. Krzemnicki from the SSEF laboratory to explain to you the history and gemological data of Grandidierite in dialogue with Kunal Sheth from House of Gems 1986 who shares with you his fascination for this exceptional gem. Alors j’ai avec moi Sabine Gyger l’enfileuse et peleuse de perles qui a inscrit son savoir faire si particulier à l’Unesco. Elle nous explique sa technique si particulière d’enfilage des perles qui n’utilise pas de colle et est donc très exigente en termes d’exactitude technique. Puis nous abordons le pelage des perles, une technique très délicate donc onéreuse que l’on réserve aux perles naturelles. Enfin, Sabine nous donne plein de conseils pour bien porter et préserver ses perles. Je suis Anne Desmarest de Jotemps et je donne une voix aux bijoux, chaque dimanche. Avec Sandrine Totah vous partagerez votre amour des perles nacrées et avec Bertrand Ternat ce sera les perles porcelainées..Tous deux nous racontent leur passion pour ces gemmes entièrement naturelles et si diverses dans leurs couleurs et leurs formes. Ils nous dévoilent leur cuop de coeur, les particularités de ces perles. Ils nous expliquent comment on estime leur valeur et la variation de cette valeur. Ils nous alertent sur la pollution qui les fait disparaitre. Ils nous parlent du marché pour ces gemmes si rares.Une astuce : compte tenu de sa rareté, la perle est sous évaluée dans le marché.
